The Anderson Arts Center presents an exhibition unlike any other! "Pet Project" is an art exhibit that will feature the special relationship between people and pets.

The exhibition will feature the Wag 'n Brag Pet Photography Contest, sponsored by the Anderson Independent-Mail, and the work of artists that specialize in pet portraiture using drawing, painting, collage, ceramics or photography.

Wag 'n Brag Pet Photography Contest

ELIGIBILITY

Open to everyone. If under 18, parental consent is required.

ORIGINAL WORK

Photographs must be original, NOT copies of someone else's work. The Anderson Arts Center reserves the right to reject any works not meeting eligibility requirements, or deemed inappropriate to hang in the galleries at the Anderson Arts Center.

PHOTO REQUIREMENTS

A pet is considered to be a domestic animal that you care for daily and which shows you unconditional love, not an animal in a field or wildlife. Examples of pets are dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, parrots, parakeets, etc.

ENTRY FEE

A non-refundable fee of $5 per image entered is to be submitted with the entry form and framed photograph(s).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. We will accept entries at the Anderson Arts Center, 110 Federal Street, Anderson from Tuesday, July 27 through Friday, August 6, 2010; Tuesday through Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm

2. All entries must be framed in a simple black frame with a single white mat and glass. No custom framing required! No size restrictions.

3. Entry form must be filled out completely with corresponding form on back of photograph(s).

4. Cash or Check in the amount of $5 per framed photography submitted, made payable to the Anderson Arts Center. There is NO LIMIT on the number of entries.

EXHIBITION

All entries will hang in a gallery at the Anderson Arts Center during our "Pet Project" Exhibition, August 13 through September 17, 2010. The other gallery will feature the work of 4 to 5 artists that specialize in pet portraiture using drawing, painting, ceramics or photography.

AWARDS

Merit Awards of $500, $300 and $100 will be presented during the Opening Reception on Friday, August 13, 2010. Some of the awards include Cutest Pet Photo, Most Artistic Pet Photo, and Most Unusual Pet Photo.

SALES

All accepted entries are available for sale through the gallery unless otherwise noted. A 35% commission will be charged by the Anderson Arts Center. If a work is not for sale, NFS (not for sale) must be noted on your entry card. No PORs (price on request) will be accepted.
