Women with Tools: Beginning Metal Jewelry Making Workshop
February 22 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
February 22, 2020 from 9am to noon
Instructor: Beth Carter Gautsch
Join me for a morning of handcrafted fun to make at least two pairs of earrings using hand tools you can find at your local hardware and hobby shops. You’ll learn how to cut, shape and texture metal to create a unique design that will make a statement on its own or add a special metal element to your beaded creations. I will also demonstrate use of the jeweler’s saw and dapping block. No experience required, just a willingness to create and design.
You must be 16 or older to participate.
Materials Fee paid to instructor on the day of the workshop:
I will have copper and sterling silver metals and ear wires available for purchase. Fees will range from $10 – $20 depending on what you purchase.
Please bring any small beads or findings you may have for design consideration. You are also welcome to bring any of the hand tools noted below, should you have them. If not we will have them to use.
