2024 Fall Session
Join us to draw and/or paint and commune with other artists! This is less structured than a traditional class. This is self-led studio time where you decide what you would like to work on and in what medium. There is a very experienced and talented instructor on site to assist and guide you and to offer constructive critique if you like. Newbies to experienced artists are welcome. You must register ahead online for each session that you wish to attend. Online registration Required.

Ceramic Guided Studio
2024 Fall Sessions
Make your clay ideas come to life! This class is less structured; you decide what you would like to make. You can experience the wheel, or hand-build a creation on the table. No experience is necessary. Newbies and experienced potters are welcome. Arrive later, leave earlier, or enjoy the entire session, but you must attend the session for which you registered. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Online registration Required.
Supplies Included: A maximum of 5 pounds of clay and studio glaze included for each session. Extra clay can be purchased as needed from instructor if supplies allow.
Glaze and Firing: Please allow for up to three weeks for your work to be ready for pick up. The instructor will use studio glaze only. If you want to glaze it yourself with underglaze, make it known to the instructor and determine when the piece will be ready for you to glaze. You may return on another Tuesday OR Thursday night after the piece is bisque fired and pay $10 cash to glaze it yourself with the underglaze of your choice. **AAC Membership discount not applicable

Ceramic Studio Membership

This is an open studio time for Ceramic Studio Members who do not require instruction but want access to a clay studio and firing in our kilns. It is completely self-guided. It is open to potters ages 18 and up. No instruction is included. Arts Center staff present, no instructor. Must check-in and out in the administrative suite, upstairs if no staff is in the studio.
Supplies not included: Clay (purchase on your own or from the Arts Center)
Supplies included but limited: Glaze & firing (all firing done by designated Arts Center clay studio manager ONLY)
Requirements: Open to people 18 and over who have attended multiple Guided Studios at the AAC and demonstrated to the studio manager and instructors proficiency with throwing and / or hand building and with material and tool handling that qualifies them to work unsupervised in the studio. Contact studio manager if interested in joining the membership.
Additional Notes: Glaze is included. Clay is not included. It can be purchased from the studio. You can bring your own clay and glaze however, they both must meet the requirements for firing in our kiln. See studio manager for that information. Firing is included but limited. Excessively large/heavy pieces or an excessive amount of work to be fired will incur additional fees. See the studio manager for that information.
Cancellation policy: Ceramic Studio Members must cancel in writing (via email) with the Program Director before the 1st of a new month when automatic billing takes place. All work in the studio must be completed at the time of cancellation.

Tuesday and Thursday nights overlap with Guided Studios. Hours subject to change, if the studio is needed for a single-day special event. Arts Center staff present, no instructor.
